Quote: A big gamble buying that 1968 mint roll, not to sure I like the sticky tape on both ends of roll tho ,hmm the seller hasn't sold many items.I would be asking for photos ,so I could look for water damage too. I would want better photos than that to bid $1,800. Also, given that there is sticky tape and some damage on each end of the roll, would it be easy to tell if someone had got a roll of 1982 2c and simply replaced one of the end coins with a 1968?

in Roxbury's sale #83 this roll turned into $2,585 without BP, so the final price sould be around $3100.

How does he know it's 1968 if it has the reverse on both ends?

Quote: Winning bid: AU $4,494.44 [ 28 bids ]
Thats about 112 dollars each That is crazy. The latest C&B magazine has retailers selling them for $2,500. Looking at the bidding it seems to have been a bidding war. The winner would have been devastated seeing the winning bid jump from $2,100 to almost $4,500 in the last minute. There are two lessons here - If the buyer had "sniped" in the last few seconds he would have saved himself over $2,000 - If the buyer had realised he can buy one for $2,500 retail he would also have saved himself $2,000.
