I haven't seen the designs yet. There are a few coins, in my opinion, that stand out, and last years selection lacked that. I have seen pictures of the Montana quarter and I like the simplistic design.

I am planing on ordering mine on the 15th when I order my President dollar Proof set. So I will order both the pres. and the State Quarter proofs at the same time that way I cna cut down on shiping. I am really looking froward to these since I lived in Washington for most of my life and now in Idaho the last 4 years so I am looking forward since those are the two states I have lived in for more then 26 years. So this will be the first 5 quarter proof I buy just because of that reason. I ussally just buy the standard proof.

The quarters in 2007 are going to be something special. They are now down to the great states in the West.

Think I'll go down and pick up a few of the new ones.

Muckeye: Of course you're not being rude. I paid $15 for the set. Can't tell you the weight. It's just the standard five coins in the clear plastic mint holder.

Old Dan: I thought of you the second I saw the Wyoming Quarter. Simplistic design, but nice. I agree, now that the coins have reached the Great West, they should be special.

Anybody who can afford it, but hasn't yet bought the set, should do so in my opinion. The coins are special. Not a bad one in the bunch.

I think I do agree with Terry however, the 2006 Quarters may have been even better.

Wyoming is the silhouette cowboy and bucking horse? I think that might be a pretty cool design. I read that they recommended a polar bear design for Alaska.

As I understand it, the Polar Bear will be on the Alaska coin. That's pretty much set in stone. Also, I understand the Arizona quarter will feature The Grand Canyon.

I think the only quarter still up in the air is Hawaii. That coin was supposed to feature a Hawaiian king who consolidated the islands. However, the powers-that-be didn't like the idea of a king on U.S. coins, so I think they are going back to the drawing board on that one.

I think New Mexico will go with the sun symbol which depicts the four rays of light, and the Oklahoma quarter will picture the state bird in flight. I think the bird is the fly catcher.

I personally feel the New Mexico design lacks imagination. The symbol is fine, but why not something additional. Regarding Hawaii, I kind of liked the king overlooking the islands.

Alaska and Arizona quarters will be great I think, and really appreciated by the collector, and others who see them.

I have seen my Grandpa's 2007 set of quarters. I like all five of them.

On the 29th of Jan I drove to Helena (our capital) for the Montana quarter launch. Figured it would be the only time the mint director and dignitaries would come to this state. We were able to exchange our cash money for up to ten rolls (original bank wrapped) of new d mint Montana quarters. Made a fun day of it. All the kids under 18 in the audience got a new quarter from the Governor!

drycreek, It was pretty much the same thing at Denver when my wife and I took in the Colorado Quarter launch. It was a fun experience.

Hmmm... those aren't bad! Wyoming and Montana are especially cool. This is the first I've seen them, can't wait to get them in my hot little hands. I'm just really surprised that Idaho didn't have a potato on it!

I think putting the polar bear on any coin is a GREAT idea. As far as I'm concerned, they're right up there with panda bears. Beautiful creatures!!

Just received my Montana shipment of quarters today in the mail. With such a plain field, it was fairly difficult to get a whole roll of unmarked coins. Everything seem to show up with only the old Bison skull to look at. Actually the coin is quite impressive, and reminds me of the long-horn steer on the Old Mexican trail coin.
