I don't think you've seen these, Ed. The first is one of the earlier ones, as you can tell from the relatively simplistic design. The second is a 2001. The Chinese came a long way in a short time with modernizing the appearance of their Panda series. They're truly beautiful, elegant bullion. 1995 Panda 2001 Panda

Trip, Those gold coins are beyond desirable. I couldn't take my eyes off of the angled-cut GML. It's simply mesmerizing. I never thought of myself as greedy until I laid eyes on that coin. If I email and ask for directions to your house and the code to your security system, better not give me them. I might just have to turn in some of my silver and get my own so I can stop drooling all over my keyboard. I'm sending you the bill if it stop working

Very nice, Traevin. You're right, they did come a long way in a short time with their coin design. They are a unique coin that shows a unique animal that is identified with China. The fact that they are so well made add some very nice icing on the cake. Sorry to hear that you are a disabled vet. Thanks for your service to our country. I am continuously amazed at the quality of the people who volunteer to defend us and our interests. I just wish that we had more leaders who would only consider military action as a remedy of last resort. I grew up in a military family and got a close up view of the sacrifices involved... at least as well as one can for not being in the military myself. It takes a lot to be up for that.

Quote: Sorry to hear that you are a disabled vet. No problem, Ed. It was a privilege to serve and nothing I'll ever regret. The military made me the man I am today. And you're right. The men and women who shed blood and got out alive are usually among the last folks you'll ever see beating the drums of war. Like you, I'm from a long line of military men. I can trace them all the way back to the Spanish American War. My uncle, a Green Beret in Vietnam, had the honor of being the most decorated soldier in Delaware, my home state, up until the recent Iraqi conflict. Too many relatives to count in the active military or the reserves. Good memories.

Quote: Like you, I'm from a long line of military men. My Dad's family can trace their service back to the US Revolutionary War but my Mom's folks emigrated here just before WW I, so are relative new-comers to the USA. Between my wife and myself, we figured that we have blood from: Russia, France, & Sweden on her side and Germany, Holland, England, and a little Blackfoot Indian on mine... quite a collection! My older brother was a highly decorated helo pilot in Vietnam. He won a silver star for medi-vac-ing some wounded Marines from an LZ that was so hot, no other helo pilots would go in there. When he got back to base, his helo had more than 100 bullet holes in it and his co-pilot was wounded in the leg. He was cut by flying glass from the bullet holes in the canopy but they were superficial wounds. You can bet that had be been a beer drinker he would not have ever had to buy another beer in-country after that. Marines may have their problems but ingratitude isn't one of them!

Same here, SB. 20 oz. of silver is my personal best, single day haul. I have this teeny tiny, pathetically small piece of .25 gold that constitutes all the AU I've ever owned; in coin form, anyway. I dream of the day I can buy a full 1 oz. honey coin. May have to trade in some AG to get it done.

My biggest order was for 200 oz. of SilverTowne 5-oz. bars that I sent in via my wife's laptop PC while we were on vacation last Sept. There was a dip in price then and I was buying the dips. I'm sure that there are others on here who do more than that on a routine basis.
