Quote:I hear the McRib is back at McDonald's, if that helps. Actually, I kind of like the Mc Rib. It's MUCH better than any of their hamburgers and my then teenaged son and I used to watch football while dining on Mc Ribs and fries in front of the TV in the basement. Good times and good memories for sure.

MMMMMM-McRib. Must get food. Must go to the "Golden Arches". Silverhawk74 got my 2009 2 oz. Kookuburra on the Bay so you can stop looking. Fairly good price at the time of purchase. Feels good to have that round again. Who would have thought that silver would drop after my purchase. Go figure.

Quote: That would depend on YOUR definition of "real", wouldn't it? It's real enough for us. I make my own sauce. Nothing fancy but it is a testy blend of readily available ingredients. Q is meat smoked at low temperature for long hours. Done right, it has its own flavor, and falls off the bone. Places like Damon's boil the meat, then finish by grilling and covering it with sauce. I like both, but once you've had the real thing, you'll understand.

I hear the McRib is back at McDonald's, if that helps. That's not bad, especially if you order the M-Crib. You can get the same meat at Aldi's or wherever for about $2.50 a six-pack, frozed. Another buck for bunz, and you've got $2 M-Cribs for 60ΒΆ.

Quote: Oh one of my favs a nice pulled pork BBQ sandwich from one of my old work spots with nice dish called corn pudding. I went to a Q shack in Cowtown and got a BBQ sammitch to go. They handed me a large heavy bag, no problem, since I was taking it home. Opened, I saw a big slab of bone-in ribs and a couple slices of bread in a separate bag. For five bucks, I guess that's as simple as it gets. If you see it, you'd like sweet masa cornbread, and maybe sugar pie.

Sounds like Ohio is not short on good BBQ as well, an simple sometimes is best answer an like a strait line, just a no-brainer. Five guys burgers, they give you a nice old fashioned grilled burger an potato cut fries placed right in the paper sack, more then anyone can eat. An that is their sell pitch, simple is better....

trout-
Many smokers look like an old steam locomotive. wood is best, but some use gas. Even a fairly small smoker can hold a half dozen chickens and a 10# brisket.

Nice find Rasta on the 2 oz. kook, man I love those old kooks. As I could not find that thing much short of two hundred to save my life. Anytime I found a deal on one, it turned out to be located in Sydney Australia, lol.....
Don't get me wrong, I love all you guys down under, but the shipping cost half way around EARTH is never cheap an rarely if ever computes for me to buy from that distance....

^ Haha~
Been off the forum for a bit because was too busy with work and family. Forgotten how relaxing it was to read posts like this one :)
Back on topic though - I did purchase a few of the glow in the dark coins for ma boy. Can't wait until he knows the difference between edible and inedible objects.

They used to have a Bunyan Burger at the PB festival (which moved across state. A single (half pound mit cheese) was $4.50, $6 for a double. Then you took it over to a table with everything to top it off.
