Saint Ninian-
The censor tries to eliminate testing.
It accepts "R" and "U" and US, but not the letters "R", "U" or UspaceS.
Try again.

My 7 year old found a 1935 Canadian cent in better shape than the one in my collection two weeks ago. Two years ago I found a 1901 CDN dime in the change given out at a local restaurant. My wife found a 1905 quarter in an old coat pocket in her grandmothers old cloths. I found a 1916 quarter in my flower bed. In a box of Canadian pennies (1 cent coins) I found three rolls of wheat pennies and roughly 3/4 of the box were pre-65 and lots in MS right back to 1956 the oldest Canadian in the lot was a 1937 which was brown but had virtually no wear. Of the wheat pennies the oldest were 1912, 1919-S, 1919, 2 X 1920, 1925-D, 1926, 1928, 1930-D, 1935, 1935-D, 1935-S, 1936, 1936-D, 1936-S, 4 x 1937, 3 x 1938, 1938-D, 3 x 1939 and lots of the 40's and 50's. Also in my teens (in the 90's) I found a 1909 Wheat cent. I am still sorting through the box first by year then variety but I did pick out a bunch of hanging MS 62 and 63's.

I know I posted my oldest find as a U.S.1909 Wheat cent, but my oldest "CANADIAN" find came from a variety store, not that long ago. A 1929 nickel!

I got a bag of pennies from the bank. In it were 14 Canadians, 21 wheat and 1 Barbados. Included in the Canadians were a 41, 42 and 55. The oldest wheat were 1916-S and 1918.

Just a couple days ago I found my new oldest: a 1916 Wheat cent and a 1920 Wheat cent. CRH'ing for Canadian pennies. By far, I have found more old pennies from the United States than from Canada in my canadian penny boxes.

Here is my oldest find. I got this out of the till at work. My next oldest is a 1940 canadian penny. I also pulled a 1939 penny out of my front yard with my metal detector.(I don't think that counts as circulation as it had likely been there for years)

1912 Canadian Nickel Your trip jar? I hope by that you mean coins you plan on selling in order to take a trip and not a jar that you intend on cashing in at the bank.......as a 1912 Canadian Nickel was made of silver and NOT Nickel.

Quote: as a 1912 Canadian Nickel was made of silver and NOT Nickel. It should have a smaller diameter than the current ones.

When Wally-World ( Walmart) first opened in Edmonton on the West-end (they did not take debit cards), I received Canadian pennies from the 20's & 30's in change... Recently (2-weeks back), a fellow worker ... received a shiny-new 1945 victory nickel in change ... which he kindly gave to me... dts...

I beat the 1920 penny already! I got this out of a Canadian penny roll last week, along with four other wheats including a 1943 steel cent.
