I wouldn't waste your time on internet sellers. Go to a Coin Show, it's usually a buck over spot if even that with the amount of $$$ you want to spend involved.

I'd personally feel safer buying those kind of things from Gold Mart than off coin show vendor, considering all the Chinese fakes out there. But if you're intimately secure in your knowledge of these PMs, I guess it doesn't much matter.

I wouldn't call 1.5% "blowing them out of the water".

I'm not suggesting coin shows aren't a good option. However, for some it's not convenient. For others it's putting a lot of money and faith in someone you'll never see again if there's a problem with your purchase.

Coin Show dealers do have an advantage and a lot of them are established dealers with brick & mortar shops they own. Some are smaller types businessmen, but overall I feel fine going to a coin show. I see these guys a lot, and plenty of them give receipts back. The savings at a coin show are nice (at least here in Texas) due to the fact they charge tax for bullion purchases under $1K. At the show, they do not. The instant gratification of getting the items is priceless. On the flip side, I do see lots of "unique" pieces of silver on the internet in which I do not see at coin shows very often - such as kilo bars etc. Either way, it's up to the individual and their situation/accessibility for going to a coin show.

To the OP, best of luck on your investment and post pics! I would agree that Gold Mart seems to have the most fair online prices around despite the wait time.

For those that beleive a Coin Show Vendor won't honor any sale that is questionable or problematic in some way, I say phooey! The Bullion dealers I've met at Shows are all reputable and wouldn't stay in business long if they weren't! These guys have very slim margins and need all the return business they can get.

Good point Coinwatch in regards to it being inconvenient for some to get to a Show. I'm fortunate I guess that there are 3 or 4 a month in my area. If I had to go online it would be APMEX because of their varieties of Bullion products.

No, I wouldn't either but maybe his water isn't as deep as ours.

Where in Canada are you? If in the Vancouver area I'd run down to J&M. The very very close to Goldmart's prices and less hassle.

homerecher,

Let's hope you're right. I'll be picking up some cheaper world proofs if your prediction comes true.
