I'm not really into this kind of stuff but ... came across these skulls.

@svslav, my first thought was "OH! How creepy!". But then I looked at the craftsmanship and it is pretty good. But still a little too creepy for my family collection!

New updates: 27: Ski Cap nice detailed design on a knit cap 26-S: Amish gentleman in straw hat 26-D: Bozo the clown 26: King Arthur By the way, some of these don't have clear dates in the photographs, but on inspection in hand, these are the date and mintmark described

25-S: This was supposed to be Santa Claus, but looks more like Ebeneezer Scrooge. The hat isn't full enough, the glasses were probably a mistake, and the beard is tough to create. 25-D: Civil War soldier 25: Motorcycle dude

And after sorting through uglies at the coin shop and nic-a-dating several, I have most of the coins I need. I am only missing a 1924-S!

It's been a long time since I've posted an update here. I have corrective eye surgery this summer which set me back because it took 2-3 months for my vision to clear up enough to carve. Then summer here in central Texas discouraged me from working in the garage too much. But now I have a lot to update. Among other things, I have all the raw coins I need to finish this set. I just need time (and some clever design ideas) to finish the set. Here are some of the latest: 24-S: Tom Sawyer with straw hat and freckles 24-D: Pirate (A Johnny-Depp-style pirate) 24: Stevedore 23-S: The graduate

20-D: The Chauffeur 20: Gentleman traveler 19-S: Classic hobo nickel -- based on a nickel I own that was created using traditional engraver's tools 19: Knight -- I've been trying to do a knight for a while, but couldn't get a design that came out right. Then I saw one like this on ebay and there wasn't much to improve on, so I created my own based on the one I saw. Here's the latest group photo. I need to carve about 20 more nickels to finish the set.

specksynder, I think what you do is interesting and very cool. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, so I appreciate those that do and what they can do. Keep it up.

I'm gonna be honest, I never heard of a hobo nickel until now, but I love 'em
