You might want to find out the melt value of the coins and have an idea what they are worth before go in. Some bullion dealers are willing to take more of than their share of the proceeds. You should be able to find out all you need on the internet. In the states the melt value of a dollar is say $23. You should expect to get around $20 with the dealer getting the $3 profit. This is just an example, with the number of coins you have you may do better.

Melt value for a Canada dollar today is $18.01 US

At today's spot silver price, those silver dollars are worth $18.02 each. So 406 of them would be worth around $7316. Like Mechman says, a dealer would offer you less than that since they'll want some of the profit. If you want to sell them all in one shot, a dealer is your best bet. If you want to maximize profit, I dunno. ebay? You'd probably lose any extra profit in fees.

Yep EBay/Paypal will take about 15% in fees so even if they sell for $21-22/each the fees will make it so that it's almost a wash compared to selling to a dealer. The value in a dealer is that you can unload them all at once, and have a payment in hand that very day. With ebay, you may have to wait days for a cleared payment and then still get scammed by a buyer. For this type of volume the seller is probably best off with a reputable dealer.

So they'll pretty much just be melt value then. Silver prices are down right now. Selling in the fall or next year may (I repeat MAY :-) ) get you a better price.

Before you sell them, check all 1966 for small beads.also check the 1967 for varieties, including small beads!!
you can be 100% sure, the dealer will..

Gatewest... and do not waste your time looking for small beads 1966 dollars or crazy off beat 1967 dollars unless you had a mint employee in your family who was a painter or had access to the back door of the mint in Ottawa or Hull in 1966-67. These "rare" dollars the 1966 small beads and the 1967 diving goose and double triple strike things are all contrived. Even though are accepted and traded in the hobby today their status is somewhat questionable to say the least. And before Hbbkiddo ( Helmut, coingirl) jumps all over this I have handled all of the above in the past as many ended up in big collections in the Vancouver BC area.
