tatt2ed13 if you enter counter stamped in the search box upper left of page you will find some info. I find a few every year with my roll searching. You can start a nice collection from roll searching. John1

Ment to add - My confusion came from thinking that the "Counter Stamps" were the ones I've seen with say A "BANKs" names on them or something of them lines .. lol ... Honest mistake ... And really appreciate the help and guidance to finally know what its proper name / classification is .. Now reading more into them then I did a few years ago , I see it goes for anything stamped into the coin in general .. As always , Learning alot from you guys and seeing more just helped me understand that they "DONT ALL HAVE BANK NAMES" ... Phil \m/

Quote: I see it goes for anything stamped into the coin in general .. Not quite. If the stamping is done by a private individual or business for the purpose of decoration, advertising etc then it is a counterstamp. If it is done by a government to re-value the coin or it mark it as being acceptable for use in a different area/country, then it is called a countermark. And if it is done by an individual or business for the purpose of guaranteeing genuineness or value it can be called a chopmark.
