RE: OP - First time buying from the mint.
This was my first time buying anything from the Mint and I will NEVER do it again. I ordered my $20 for $20 on May 17th and I just received them 2 items yesterday and the remaining today, I've read numerous posts here and other places yakking about their outrageous lag time for shipping.
My question is, has anybody truly scrutinized their shipping policies? I scaled their website and pulled information regarding their 'shipping' time lines, methods we "choose" to pay for and their "processing" time. Each of them were inconsistent with each other. But! I did piece it all together and I HAVE proven, using their words how they are conducting unfair business under the Consumer Protection Act. They did and have broken a contract between them and I and I will not sit here and see it happen over and over again.
Tomorrow I will call them to see what they have to say. This is unacceptable for such a large organization.

@4228, think of this as a hobby and it's supposed to give joy and happiness. They're terrible but it's not worth the headache!

4228 - you say you ordered the coins on May 17th..and received them today (May 30th)? Thats pretty good shipping time if you ask me, especially from a large organization that has thousands of orders to ship out. I dont think 13 days (under 2 weeks) is cause to complain....however I do hate the fact that I ordered my group of seven coin in mid april...and STILL says processing, THAT sucks. Regardless, I would agree with you that RCM does have horrible shipping time and update system

@4228: You mentioned you placed an order on 17 May and that you received it yesterday (29 May) -- that's less than two weeks from order to mailbox. I don't find that timeframe to be outrageous at all or out of step with other mints around the world. Now, while it is true that the RCM has been suffering through a number of delivery issues in 2012 -- and multiple revised shipping dates can be frustrating -- they are following the general consumer protection guidelines by providing delivery updates, allowing delayed orders to be cancelled and not charging credit cards until product actually ships. I agree with tocoins, coin collecting is supposed to be a hobby, a way to relax and spend some time away from life's pressures. While it may take a little bit longer to receive your coins, the delay should be forgotten as you enjoy your coins over the years to follow.

@elkslayer132, can I ask you a questions please? Since you've probably seen a lot more coins than some of us combine. Say for a low mintage coin, is it possible to find one that has a COA number twice or even three times higher? My understanding is that the mint does not mint all the coins at once but they might have the COAs printed in one batch. Has this always been the practice? Or is this just recent? Is it possible/suspicious to find one such coin?
Thanks in advance!

I have never seen one like that but I have heard of them just a mint error that could not be fixed at the time it does not happen very often.

@elkslayer132, I should have been more clear. The low mintage that I referred to are really the bad performers at issue time. Say for example, a projected mintage was 10,000, but only 2,000 were minted and sold. Would there be high number COAs among those 2,000?

@tocoins: This sometimes happen. One notable example is with the 1998 10oz Silver Maple Leafs (which have sterling silver COA bars with serialized number stamped on). Although only around 13,000 were minted, COA numbers can be found as high as in the 20,000s. The explaination in this case is that the COA numbers and order of sales was not synchronized. The planned mintage was 30,000 and only ~13,000 was sold.

@poboxw, thanks for your answer! Does anyone have such example in their possessions? Would love to see a real example of this.
