Awesome coin but it's time to get some nice new 2x2s for those beauties though. Cant have decimal coinage royalty living in a home suitable for a PMD victim.

For a valuable coin like this id definitely be using a stapled 2x2 just on the off chance the glue runs onto the coin or comes unstuck and the coin slips out.

Kel,

I'm sure its a security risk having that many good looking mules - would gladly "babysit" some of them in perpetuity for you!

How about two boxes of 2x2 from me instead?

We now have an auction.

Trout: "... I have damaged coins scraping agains the staples on another 2x2"

I wrote this on another thread very recently -
"- get yourself a "flat-clinch stapler", which uses ordinary staples but prevents catching as you describe.
There are several previous threads about staplers on CCF.
I got mine for about $9.00, at the Darwin branch of a national stationer, " SBA Office National". "

If they are scraping against each other they couldn't be getting stored well. I would suggest plastic sleeves and not stacking them on top of each other. Having said that if you've never had an issue with the adhesive ones then you may as well keep using them. They do look neater.

I've had some issues with the adhesive 2x2's where some of my Farthings were put away 10 years or so in the Renniks 22.5mm adhesives, and some are coming apart. Now I'm stapling all just to be sure...
The last batch of 2x2's I bought were by Importa of Holland, and these seem very much like the Renniks - are they as good? I see the newer Renniks ones have a yellow-brown peel off as the Importas do. The Renniks I bought a while back have white peel-offs
