Great set!! I hope to have a gold type set one day. I really love the Indian head and St. Gaudens designs.

Thanks everyone. My favorites are currently the $10 Indian, of course the St. Gaudens, and the $3 Princess is just a thoroughly enjoyable piece to hold in hand. Besides the price, that's why I love that they are well circulated. The Classic Heads exude history and for the life of me, there is no way I'll ever comprehend how that tiny Type I $1 could be used effectively in the mid-1800s. It's just 50% the area of a dime!

Always impressive to see them all together like that. It may be well worth considering making a display case for them, and to your own satisfaction.
Suggestion: Investigate the possibility of obtaining sized screw capsules for them all, and buying a recycled plush lined case that was used for a proof set, and display the encapsulated coins in that. When finished, you can handle each coin, and show them to your friends, without the threat of damage by being accidentally dropped.
Remove the innards of the proof set case and make a new plush lined card, with rebates to accommodate the screw capsules. I made one like this, out of a piece 5mm thick aluminium plate.
The whole case with the encapsulated coins in it is heavy, and has a rich tactile feel to it.
I have found that the sized screw capsules and a suitable case were relatively easy to obtain from a larger coin dealer. Phone around to a few dealers, to find what may me available. You need to explain fairly accurately what you would be trying to do.

Sweet lot of gold coins. Are they in some sort of holder or just laying around?

Wow, Beautiful! You should house this in a DANSCO type album page. Actually, I would buy 2 of them, the 2nd page could house your type 2 dollar, classic head quarter and half eagle, and $3 gold piece.

Everything you see loose in the picture just lives in a flip in the SDB the rest of the time. When I visit them, I really enjoy having them in hand as though they are actually, well, money. The double eagles are especially fun to flip heads to tails in hand as somebody may have done with like coins in the past. They are circulated or near mint state and value won't be affected by minimal handling. Some good display suggestions above, thanks. Maybe someday. I'll need a bigger SDB though.
