I'll see if I can get one. Seems a little odd to me to go into a store and ask to take a picture. Maybe dealers are fine with it? Never tried.

No real need; it's not like an ugly coin wouldn't be obvious to you. The price is nice, and one rarely sees truly egregious errors in a PCGS slab. And PCGS is known to be pretty strict on FH designation. Just look at it and think to yourself, "Would I be happy with this coin?"

I ended up buying it for $290. When I went back in to look at the coin it looked real nice. A little toning around the outside but not in a bad way. My father was very happy to have it as he had been wanting to get one for years.

I tried taking pictures to post here because I am also pleased with the coin but both my cameras focused on the plastic slab instead of the coin. I will experiment and try again later.

Thanks for the input.

If you divulge the serial number of the PCGS slab, sometimes they take images (NGC does more images) when certifying coins.

This was a real pain because none of the pictures would turn out. The camera focused on the case instead of the coin in all the other shots. Here is the front though.

Gorgeous coin. I would jump all over that at $300. Really strong details.

Makes me wonder how he got such a good deal.... it's definitely a nice coin, and I agree with the grade, but does anyone have any common explanations for this? I guess someone sold a collection of coins to the dealer in order to get fast cash (therefore he got ~60% of FMV)? Or it was bought raw at a good price and submitted for MS63FH?

But still, even if this was the case, I don't quite understand why he would offer the coin at 75% of FMV to start with (even if he was ultimately willing to take that, or less).
