is Denver the only Mint that released the 2011 Penny to circulation?

Google probably would have gotten you a faster answer.

I doubt that they will ever have another mint year with only a Denver minted coin. Look at the last time they did it (to my knowledge) was the 1922 small cent and it created the infamous 1922 no D. No I think they will always mint a Philly cent for any given year.

Re-read the original poster's question. That is not what he was asking...

Philidelphia is larger than Demver so with more people, they have more money. With more money, they can hire more trains, trucks, busses, planes, boats to carry the coinage they make to more places than Denver.
OR, people don't like those little letters representing a town or city so coins without a mint mark get put into circulation more.
OR, coins without a mint mark are lighter since they don't have that additional letter on them so they move through the country faster.
All of the above would indicate that the Phily coins are more in circulation than the Denver ones. Yet this post sort of says the opposite. Is Denver trying to make a liar out of me?
This question comes up every year. It just takes time for all the new coins to move around.

normally gets those die hard CENT people saying how we don't have PENNIES, we have CENTS.

I think Denver coins are sent to more places across the US. It used to be that east of the MS river, were P coins and west of the MS river, were D coins. Now I'm finding out that some banks, east of the MS river, are getting D coins and have been for quite a few years now. Like in Lexington, TN, they get D coins and they are about 111 miles east of the MS river.

So depending upon your location, will determine the higher probability of getting which Mint's coin from there.

i am in Texas, near the Gulf Coast...I still havent found a 2011 2012, or 2009 cent without a D. I have asked around and no one had ever thought much to look but when I asked them to keep an eye out, They are now just as miffed as I am on the mint situation,,,, they only have Denver as well...Guess the Phillis cant make it across the Mississippi. or over the hills....Maybe I will have an Aunt from Morgantown send me any if she can,,, its alot to ask... If her dementia doesn't kick the subject out!!

One thing I didn't think of is since Denver is so high up in height, possibly coins get circulated more due to they go down hill faster.
This could also be due to that extra weight of having a D on them.

Makes you wonder what Texas did to Denver in the past now doesn't it?

Where were you when you found them? Which state or province were you in when you found them and do you have a federal reserve bank near you?

I live in the East. When I saw my first 3 2012P I also got in change 2 2012D on the same day. Since then I haven't seen a single 2012D which has been over a month since the first 2012D sighting.

I really don't think where you live makes any difference in the coins being releaed. By me we have a Federal Researve Banking Center and possibly a branch bank of almost any kind possible on every corner. (Slight exageration). I once counted about 25 banks in walking distance from where I worked. Yet I sometimes read on these forums about people finding new coins in change and I sometimes have a problem finding one year old ones.
