I am not familiar with grading Barber coinage, however I would say AU-58. It looks like there is wear on the eyebrow and possibly the upper part of the cheek.

I think probably MS63. Maybe NGC gave it a star.

I will guess MS-63. Nice toning and clashing!

OK, thanks guys. The grade: NGC MS64 (no star)

This basically confirms my initial impression... I don't like the term "slider" or "+" (as in between grades) but I feel it is applicable here. It seems better than MS63, but just barely not good enough for MS64. I really can't say either way because I'm just not experienced in this so I was hoping you guys would have something more conclusive... unfortunately you seem divided too.

The coin is fairly priced almost exactly right between MS63 and MS64... with the toning its not too bad of a deal.

I was going with MS-63 so would have been off by 1 grade. Love the toning by the way.

Hello,

Are those almost horizontal lines actually scratches present above and below the letters on the reverse: not to the right of the letters?

If this is the case, I would go with MS 63.

I've been on fire grading via photos lately! At least when going up against the TPG - ANACS, NGC and PCGS anyways.

I think this is one righteous looking coin MS64 all day! The trick I used is to look at the flow lines, you can't always tell a small bit of wear, but the flow lines prove the luster is there even if the photo doesn't show it well, IMHO.

Again super coin you got there.

Hmmm ...

I'm wondering now if the line between ONE and DIME is actually a scratch. Looking at the close-up picture it doesn't look like the other hairlines... its pale and dull, not reflective, and doesn't appear to have any depth (appears not incuse).

What do you guys think? Maybe the result of a piece of hair or lint that sat on the coin's surface while it toned?

I think NGC was right with their MS-64 grade. Very nice toning ... should sell for a premium over book value.
