don't forget that site requires a $10 registration fee before you can even bid... I got suckered into that one... paid my $10 and then didn't end up buying anything...

I have bought a number of coins from dealers on Trade me,a lot of them have the overseas postage listed and if not its only a short email. The only difficulty I have found is with private sellers who dont accept paypal/paymate with a credit card. For small purchases I have sent some of their coins back across the Tasman to pay cash. To pay into a bank account in NZ from Australia is too expensive ($22)

I have purchased quite a few New Zealand coins from seller "donaldo" (Donald Ion) and found him very good. I sent him a wish list of others I wanted and he found most of them for me at a fair price. http://www.trademe.co.nz/antiques-c...81451132.htmAll positive from my viewpoint. Also, another forum member I know has purchased coin from him. Jeff

I have also purchased from Donald (he used to have an ebay account but doesn't use it anymore!) and had no problems.

I agree, I have also purchased from Donald Ion and have found him to be most helpful, with very reasonable prices. I have recommended him to a number of people. Also, if you are travelling in NZ,his daughter has the coin shop in Rotorua and she is also very helpful.

Dont forget of course, the exchange rate works in your favour when buying from Aus.

Don Ion has been very helpful to me in completing my NZ sets & I have successfully bought from other sellers as well. Beware of international bank transfers as they cost both buyer & seller but some of these NZ sellers have Australian bank accounts so there's usually no charge involved in a domestic transfer. Check that the seller will post internationally & what postage they charge. TradeMe has its own version of PayPal which is PayNow where if you've been authenticated (registered with $10 fee) you can pay by credit card but not all sellers accept all methods of payment.

Hi Guys I've brought a lot from Trademe being a member/seller too. It's got some very good coins for good prices too.

Sadly Don Ion passed away late last year. It's possible his daughter may have taken over from her Father, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Very sad to hear that news Nancy. You refered me to Don last year and he refered me to his daughter. I still have her email address if anyone need it.
