Goober it is about a 1000 dollar coin at 66 and 400 at 65 but 100 at 64. Honestly its worth getting it graded if itll get a 64 or higher. Maybe a 63, anything less though and youll pay as much to have it graded as the coin is worth

I found getting a decent picture very difficult using my camera. So I swiped my husband's computer-microscope (it is really a $20 kids' scope). But then the LED lights caused too much glare. So then I swiped another one of his computer-microscopes and it is better.

Some people have covered the LED lights on the microscopes with tape and that helps.

As for using a camera, I had the best luck taking the photos outdoors in natural light.

It is really something the way the price skyrockets when you get to the top grades. So I guess it is worth the effort to find out if it should be graded.

basebal21 You made my day! LOL

I'm confused

No reason to be confused ... show us some photos of the coin ... anyway you can ... and we can help.

Without photos ... all we can do is wish you well with whatever you have.

The coin appears to have wear on the high points (sails). I do not believe this one will pull an MS grade.

Unless the light part is all glare in also appears to have been lightly cleaned.

Are you able to show as well a photo of the obverse side? ... I'll reserve my final judgement until we can see that.

this coin shows no wear(to me). this isn't saying a hole lot! I have a 40 times scope that does pretty good at seeing any little thing. its been in family for 50 or so years and hasn't been touched at all. thanks again!

I just don't think this coin will grade MS by any of the TPG's. It's a decent coin but just not a high grade mint state piece.

Your coin is lightly circulated but unfortunately, it has been cleaned as evidenced by the hairline scratches especially visible in the obverse photo.

I have to agree with the others, this coin does not look mint state to me and it appears likely it was cleaned/wiped at some point in its past. Overall, it simply has a circulated look to my eye (at least based on the digital images).

Thank yall for helping me understand. I think I will just hold on to this one. Not really worth getting it graded. I will be back with more questions!

with the observations given. Circulated and cleaned.

Keep it for the sentimental value.
