I can't believe someone paid $99.00 for a coin in very obvious condition that it was altered to look like a 14D.

I've seen some altered ones that actually wasn't too bad but, this one really stands out.

You know what the funny thing is, ebay makes it rough for honest sellers with all the fees (who have small margins), but makes it perfect for people that counterfeit and just try to rip dumb people off.

If one single person that took 10 minutes to whine about it, took 1 minute to report it instead, it would have been removed within hours.

Not even a good alteration. I too wonder why no one reported this as it was very obvious.

Notice how the supplied photo put shadows in the area around where the VDB would show. Very convenient.

Maybe the seller threw in the pen knife as a free gift for the buyer?

This one looks a little suspicious! Buyer beware!

A Little, do ya think. You can see the horizontal line through the 1 on the penny that makes it a 1944, not 1914...

That is is just sad. My 8 year old daughter is 10X smarter than the guy who actually won that. And she has only been collecting for about a year.

How did that sell for 100? That might be the worst altering job in history.
