Quote: Mine look just fine, but then, I paid $2 for a twoonie so I wasn't expecting much. Nice way of convincing yourself and others, and good way to face coins.

Very nice coin. I tried to order 3 sets and an error message displayed on the web site saying they can't be mailed to the US.

So I ordered mine June23, just 5 days after they came out and got the 'backordered' email. Chalk up another disappointed customer here. How difficult is it for them to not take orders once they run out? Or minimally state when they expect the backorder'ing to be resolved. Sigh.

Don't feel bad - my order day was June 20th. My email saying 'back-ordered' came in on Friday June 29th. Over a week to say "oops we're sorry"

Would a Canadian CCF member be willing to order three 1812 packs for this American member. I'll pay through paypal or other means including shipping and fees to US. I understand letter rate shipping is free to Canadian residents.
Send me PM.
Thanks.

I got one in circulation the other day too. It was fresh out of a roll! What a beautiful coin!

Got one in circulation today so cancelled my order with the mint. One month wait with no followup on when it might be actually coming seems fair. I agree nice coin!

Funny story. We had planned to go to Montreal for a scientific conference in late June. I was reading in the current issue of Coin World about the War of 1812 toonie before we left and I was mad when I read that the coin could only be ordered by Canadian citizens. While in Montreal I collected a nice example of a few coins, like olympic quarters and one quarter with a breast cancer center inlay(?). The day before we left, I got some change and noticed the toonie was brand new and stuck it in my back pocket so I wouldn't spend it. Two days later I found the coin and realized it was the 1812 toonie. So, despite my wish to get one, I wound up getting one handed to me and didn't even realize it. Doh!
