I do not wish to hammer him if its just a shipping error we all make mistakes. I was not happy about it taking the seller 5 days to put it in the mail, after I paid for this item 3 min. after the close of the sale. Lord knows when my mother was in hospice I had things get out of wack, but sending an E-mail just takes a second.

I must apologize here because I about couldn't stop laughing long enough to respond as soon as I saw his photos and then yours of the coin sent. That is definitely not the same coin and well if it is, he is better at photographing coins than you are because he made that worn out thing look like it had allot more detail. Must be the lighting he used...
I hope you all know I am kidding about the lighting because there is no way anyone could make that coin he received look like the one sellers picture no matter what type of lights you used

No matter what happens; If the seller makes it right himself or not, you are protected & will rec. a refund from paypal. This you probably already know.

I had this happen also. The seller didn't return me emails. I file a claim and inside 2 weeks I had my money back to include shipping costs both ways.

The seller now has 91 items listed about 35 more then 2 days ago so I know the seller is looking at his E-Bay page. But still no response as to where the listed coin went too. I think I will end up just getting my money back and not the coin he had listed .

There's something not right about the whole listing. The more I look at the ebay photo, the more it looks like an 1879 date on the coin and not 1889 as listed. I doubt the seller checked what he was sending and only shipped the 1889-O he had. He must have used the wrong photo in the listing and didn't catch it. At any rate, I think the 48.77 bid was way more than the coin was worth. Best to get your money back if you can.

Yeah, this one's so far off the mark that it would be my leaning to give the seller the benefit of the doubt for an honest mistake. Stuff happens.

I was leaning towards an honest mistake by the seller, but 72+ hours after the 1st e-mail into this and I have yet to have any reply. The sellers only bad feedback states "never returned any e-mails" this one is sounding a lot like that one.

If I hear nothing by Friday of next week from the seller one way or the other, I will mark him Negative. "No reply in 9 days" is in no way good!

twohawks, you have been more than patient and there is no reason for him not to reply to you within 24 hours. Anything over that is unacceptable. I would file with ebay and get your refund. Reward him with a NEG feedback and put him on your do not buy from list.

and I would file the complaint. Enough time has passed since you first reached out to him.

As far as the pics...um the cases aren't even the same! And I can't see the date in the first photo. Two different coins. Sorry this happened.

WOW I just got the sellers reply..... What Bull
He states that the listing was for a similar type. I have looked over his listing a few times, and this just keeps looking like just a "if you don't catch me" type seller.

Here is the 2nd e-mail I sent and his response as well my second reply.

Dear luckyfish1,

This sale was and is listed as the coin, not a sellers choice of a simalar idem. I have saved the listing no where in it is it stated the seller can or will change the idem. Anyway I do not what this coin as it is not the one in your listing. I will have it in the mail back to you Monday morning by 8:45 AM EST.

Dear collectorscorner-coins,

Hell-o, sorry I haven't gotten back with you before now but I have been out of town playing in a golf tournament. FYI, this was listed as "sell similar item with no returns accepted", however if you would like to keep it I will entertain an equitable offer to save time and the hassel and delaying getting your money back, if not return the coin and upon receipt I will gladly refund your money. Thanks, elf

Dear luckyfish1,

I am sure that this is not the same coin in the listing I won. I do not know if it is a shipping error, but no contact is making me think it was not an error.

Here is a link to your listing photo and photos of the coin you shipped me. https://goccf.com/t/122316

Guys, I Finally got my money back after a 20 plus days FLOAT of my cash. It was a "Buyers Protection" refund not a sellers refund. Anyway you may wish to shy clear of this seller as, the far away photos and lack of any real description is not a great selling point! I still cant see why the seller doesn't respond?

How do you shy clear of a guy like this when he pops up under another name?

... When sellers give me the old silent treatment, I just go straight through PayPal, in the end, if the sellers stays shy, PayPal will refund your cash and you can still keep the item sent? Obviously if the seller refunds you and wants the item back, you should send it back, but if they thinks it's funny not to respond, get the cash and keep the prize
