I still maintain my position. Whomever things its a stupid idea, a money-trap, a damaged coin, waste of money etc.... To look at the photo is 100% free! Its awesome looking. Imagine what all six coins in the set would look like, full color, in a display box.
Who knows, perhaps the Mint will be inspired one day and release a full color coin similar like this one.
The 25th anniversary of the Silver Maple Leaf is this year. (Anybody have the exact date?). How cool would it be to have a full color version of it?

While I do agree that it looks cool, it is none the less PMD in my opinion, and as such, not worth the price.

i wonder how long the color will last on them....to me anything that is not plan from a goverment mint or private mint on a coin or bullion is considered a money trap

Trap or not I like it. I've made worst decisions in my life and spending a $100 bucks on a coin I want doesn't sound unreasonable. The pictures just not enough I need more!

I like it. I've got all the coins in the set with the PMD gold added because I like them. I don't ever expect to get my money back let alone make a profit on them. But I didn't buy them as an investment, I bought them as collectable art that I enjoy.

@kuh_85, "I bought them as collectable art that I enjoy" --> I think this is the single best reason to buy any coin or any collectable for that matter.

It's not about the cost it's all about weather or not you like the coin

Quote:given that regular wolfs now go for anywhere between $65-80, this is not a bad deal. Especially since 90% of the wolfs, even the sealed ones, are spotted with the unsightly RCM milky patches. Does any wolf coin worth to buy? How about the 2 wolf cubs comes out next month? Thanks!

Found a photo of a coloured Moose. Kinda looks nice. I wonder if the mint will ever release all six coins in a set with a box, all proof and all coloured.

oiy!! I guess nothing can be done to improve that cougar :P Moose and wolf do look nice though. Still not a fan of colorized coins. Only own one set ( Perth Mint WWII tank series) and a bumble bee. Thats probably enough for me!
