I missed a few spots on purpose. Otherwise I would have turned the coin into a MS.

A Maytag and some Tide. Fabric softener added at rinse of course.

Well I know it was not a Whirlpool as I have one
and that cleans just a tad better than the Maytag.
If you had used that along with Whisk instead of Tide those
other little spots would of come out. Not exactly sure of the brand on the fabric softener though. But the coin has a soft glow to it and besides it smells nice.

I don't want anyone ruining coins and blaming me but here's what I do I said experimenting because I try different things as I'm sure many of you have done. I've tried dilute solutions of 409, vinegar, ammonia, PineSol & suntan lotion. Even a good ol soapy water soak sometimes helps followed by a light brushing with a soft toothbrush. Since there are a lot of causes for cruddies I figure one of my soaks might attack that particular one. As I've stated I don't play with valuable coins. I'd leave that up to the pros. See, no magic cure, just a bunch of soak & hope. OH NO-MY SECRET IS OUT!

i seem to find the nice Wams in regular rolls and not in the bank wrapped rolls.

Sure looks a bit more potent than some acetone, but then again I don't venture far in coin cleaning.
