RPMs? I'm not sure what those are. But yet again, I still don't know what a lot of the terminology in the hobby are yet.
EDIT:
I think I may also want to add that I believe the reason why I have so many good finds at my bank, is because they are full of customer wrapped coins. That usually yields the best finds, right?

RPMs are repunched mint marks and can be found on Lincoln cents before 1990. Before 1990 the mintmarks were all added to the die by hand.

But buddy, using a microscope is the best way to search for errors :)

Nice you found so many wheats. Hopefully that same bank will bring you more luck...

Derek,if you don't have any use for the rolls with bank names on them, send them my way,I collect wrappers with bank names. That goes for all you folks,I need any wrappers with bank names on them. I know, you are thinking I must be nuts ,and, you are probably right, but I love the history of banks.

I think it's funny that when I get boxes or rolls of coins I often find wheaties as I'm Canadian. I am finding way more interesting American coins than Canadian. I've just started this hobby for about a month and so far I snagged a 1921 american penny, but the oldest Canadian is 1940. Does anyone else experience that? Or vice versa if you live in the States...

I have the same experience here in the states only in reverse, I find George V and George VI pennies all the time, and I can tell you, those make me a lot happier than finding a wheat.

I have the same experience here in Canada, a surprising amount of wheaties found while searching rolls. I guess it's because collectors here in Canada are after Canadian coins primarily, and vice versa in the USA. I have only ever found one George V penny in countless rolls searched...

When I go through a box of pennies I usually find about 5 wheats and 10 CDN pre 1959

Any tips on how to quickly go through the boxes of coins? I think I spend way too much time on them. I'm curious to what others do...

Here in the middle of the US (Kentucky) I've come across a 1920 Canadian in a roll. Can't get older than that in a roll of small cents! Great luck for your first roll search by the way. Hope it continues!
