All depends on the shipping arrangement.

I would pay 2 cents each all day long. Would keep me busy for quite some time, too!

if you made an offer and he accepted then you should follow through with the deal whether it's a good deal or not. That does sound like a good deal though.

Seems like most people agree this is a good deal. If every penny was from the 40's and 50's does everyone think this is still a good deal? To me these are still commons ... just curious if there is a market for them.

I would pay 2 cents each in a heartbeat. And I would have fun searching through them. There is a good chance that there are at least a few worth far more than 2 cents each. But even if every coin was from the 40's and 50's, it is still a great deal. The coin club that I belong to pays 3 1/2 cents each for wheat pennies in our penny pot.

Melt value is 2.3 cents for a copper penny. So, yes, I still think it's a deal if 40's and 50's.

Even if searched, the previous owner may not know of things like Doubled Dies, RPM's, offsets, etc. So for 2 cents each and a chance of finding a good one, worth the time and money.

At first I missed the "each". Was going to ask for the address of your dealer so I could buy 100,000,000 for $500,000.

If you're just buying for the copper the LMCs are a better deal.

Imagine being able to say OH, look at all those irritating 1955 pennies that have all that blurry, double looking letters and numbers.

^ The blurry ones are half price.

Yeah, blurry is definitely no good. They might even pay you to take them :p
Serious note, though, I decided to check out a different dealer nearby today, just to compare them to the one I like to go to. Wanted $8.50 per pound, was selling pretty worn common date Morgans for $35, coins that have been painted on, minimal price on any silver dimes was $3.50 (the other shop I get them for $3). All in all, I found it was better to keep my business to the one shop. The guy I got to is a lot nicer, too.
