For all you Wyoming haters: What kind of horse is depicted on this coin?

A quarter Horse!

I'm late to the game but have started looking at (OK, hoarding) State Quarters and was curious about which ones other people liked-- searched CCF for 'favorite State Quarters', saw this thread.

My vote for favorite is Nevada. Mississippi is also lovely. My vote for worst is Wyoming. It looks unfinished, like they gave up before adding details. It stands out like a sore thumb.

And this Pennsylvania that I found, I originally never really liked this design but this one really caught my eye. The wear really brings out the details.

I too agree that the ATB Quarters look much nicer than the state set. I can't wait to find some nicely worn ones, although that will likely be hard due to the lower mintage.

The Connecticut quarter always reminds me of Lichtenberg Figures;

The Arkansas one was always my favorite. Maybe because my dad always called it the Vietnam quarter. If you don't look too hard, it seems like a paratrooper is falling into a rice paddy. Always cracked me up.

Mississippi, Maine, Nevada, Oklahoma, Arizona, Alaska

I bought and opened an extra roll of Hawaii Volcanos-S Quarters because it's my favorite ATB design

I can't wait to get my hands on a White Hood ATB, though.

AllezRoubaix: (I assume you are a fellow bicyclist)

I totally agree that wear makes some of the err... mediocre coins look way better. I really love that Vermont quarter you have, very cool.

As for my favorite State Quarter, I keep changing my mind between Connecticut, Maine, Mississippi, Kansas, and North Dakota. Although Nevada, Alaska, Arizona, and the Northern Mariana Islands are close behind. My favorite ATB so far is probably white mountain, acadia, or hawaii volcanoes, although I change my mind constantly
