Nice car. As a Beamer owner let me tell you what to expect.
In about 20 years you'll need to replace the head gasket. You will want to get it fixed but your spouse will not. It will sit on the driveway until it needs a paint job. You will still want to fix it but your spouse will not.
I'll let you know how it turns out. LOL
Thanks for the contest and enjoy your new ride!

joeturbo26 Oh how I wish I still had my first car. (sigh) But that was about uh....37 years ago. Yikes, I'm getting old. LOL
I was hoping to get the odometer to 200K. I don't know why. My husband used to fix the cars all the time -- we used to have four cars and two engine hoists. But he doesn't work on them much anymore. And I am sure he is right - it's time for a replacement. I'm just too cheap to buy a new car. LOL Besides the old classics... (another sigh)...well, a girl can still dream...

Congrats Mycrob! And as a BMW owner myself ('00 323Ci), I now feel embarrassed to have guessed Hyundai. Not that there's anything wrong with Hyundai cars or their owners...

VB have you seen the new 335is ?! INCREDIBLE! I wanted it but without x drive (not available) it would make winter impossible!
As for hyundai they're pretty awesome! My sisters friend has one. You can control is from your iPhone!

Trust me, I am constantly drooling over the 335s (and the 650i) when I visit my dealership. Unfortunately they do not come cheap, so for now I am just babying my 323 to last a few more years until I splurge on a newer one.

I've driven a Hyundai since 2005. While it is no BMW it has its merits. In 8 years I've spent less than $200 on maintenance, not including oil changes which I do religiously every 10,000 miles...lol. 35 mpg to boot!

I am always impressed with the new Hyundai models, I remember when 10-15 years ago they were a complete joke. They definitely deserve the award for "Most Improved" manufacturer, the new Genesis and Velastro really are great cars! Heck, they are probably more reliable (and definitely more fuel efficient) than my BMW, it's just that I'm a sucker for sporty handling and that legendary BMW brand name.

To me honestly, I think the BMWs of today are much nicer than ever. But In the early 2000s, 90s and prior BMW while yes had a name synonymous with luxury and was a "brand", I think there were and still are Nicer looking cars out there for sure. But I am purely sold on the drive. It's very hard to enjoy the ride and feel of the road on another car after driving a BMW. Unless of course we are talking way out of price range lol. Hey maybe my next contest will be GUESS THE COST OF MY BUGATTI VEYRON! Hahaha

Joe I'm a city dweller myself -- nothing as big as NYC to be sure but we have a yard the size of a postage stamp and we have the only 2 1/2 car garage (with an attic!) for blocks and blocks. The place appealed to my gear-head husband. LOL
We used to get new cars -- but I'm disgusted with insurance companies so I keep the clunkers going these days. A few years ago we had FOUR cars and all were insured for less than 1K a year. Now we're paying even less.
Of course it helps that we work at home. We always get rentals for road trips.
I still have to get another car - - and I'm looking at Volvos. (I am Such an Old Lady!)
Anyway -- I hope you have good weather in September and that you can take that sports car out for a nice ride!
