1985 50¢ is hardest to find. Official mintages says more issued than 1993 but it is much less common.

enworb, Did you mean 73, or 85? The 73 is listed on RAM website as 4,000,000 while 85 is listed as 1,000,000.

In years of looking the only 50c I haven't found in the wild is the 1993 - even managed to come up with a 1985.

I agree with Jeff, 85 is hardest to find. The reasons why have been discussed elsewhere on the forum, but include that the design changed, and then there were no 50c made in 86 and 87.

I did mean 1973. What I meant to say was of those molydeii has they are the hardest. I agree 1985 is by far the hardest to find. I've found 3-4 1993 per 1985.

Fair sure big ears and Charles are synonymous. No variations to do with the ears.

The 1981 Chuck and Di turn up regularly in EF/aU, but the 1981 Coat of Arms much less so. I'm yet to find a lustrous standard '81. The 1973 is even harder; no-one seemed to hoard these ones at the time: remember the oil crisis/inflation (Whitlam era... ). I've found 12 1993's as against 4 1985's , so I agree the '85 is the harder one to find in circ.

Thanks for all the comments guys, nevertheless, I can not comment on which ones are easy and which ones are hard to find, since I am a little bit far from where they're used.:) Still, I have to say, all I had was a 1985 mint set of Australian coins purchased around 6-7 dollars from ebay back in 2005. Sİnce I've joined the forum, now I have more than four trays and six 2x2 pages full of them. Trading is definitely amazing. About the "big ears" no it's not a coin variation..:) it's what a British language professor that I know called Prince Charles back about 20 years ago. Oh and Jeff, indeed yeah. Definitely up for that coin. Need to see my local dealer soon to find something nice shiny and silver for exchanging with it. I hope I'll find something nice. BTW, you'll have an email soon. Again, thanks a lot for all of you who took time to see my Australian collection. I'll be adding soon, and will let you know with the photos hopefully. :)

Thanks guys, can you believe now I've got an Armaguard bag full of 50c and another full of 10c's? ... they're amazingly expensive to ship here, thanks to Jeff I've got two bags now.. probably keep them bagged, however I am unsure if it's safe to keep them inside bags for medium to long term storage?
Ah, and also, I'll try to upload some more photos... but something keeping me busy... I am building little dog houses from wood for a local shelter here.. It's something I haven't tried before, but seems like given the right tools at hand, I've got a natural ability with wood.:) It's a nice way to spend your off-time from work.
