Has anyone pointed this out to the seller? They have a fairly high number of 100% positive feedback and say they offer a guarantee that coins are genuine.

appleangel07Here is a 2004 fake toonie I had in my collection...Look at the (bubbly) lettering and compare it with the one on ebay and you will see it is a cast fake for sure.

I used to do this, but after you get abused & just completely ignored on the majority of your messages you soon realise it is a waste of your time,so I don't bother anymore. Can everybody please report this item ? I did lastnight.

I put a cheap bid on it just because id like it as a fake. I doubt I will win at $10.00 but if I do I'm happy to fork out. Chances are people wont realise and it will go for standard 1937 crown price.

That is a very very crude attempt at a fake.

Quote: $20.61 + $3.50 post, its going up Bugger! That means probably won't be purchased by a forum member. I was really looking forward to accurate measurement and mass report; as well as detailed description of appearance. Maybe we should start a subscription to purchase it (regardless of cost) and obtain an expert appraisal. After all listing does say "This coin is guaranteed to be a genuine Australian Coin. Should you find it is not and you are dissatisfied with the genuineness of the coin, simply return it for a full refund (minus postage costs). Please note, the coin must be returned in condition it was sent to be eligible for the refund. this period is for 30 days from time of purchase, after which the sale will be considered closed." Then again the listed return policy is "No returns or exchanges"! Looks like a gamble there. Jeff

Trusting someone that says "No exchanges or refunds" is basically like going into a shop (say JB Hifi) & they have a sign on their counter saying "We only accept cash"...I think I'd pass.
But it all depends how much you're willing to pay for a cast coin.
