you got a great deal long as they are real. I have seen a few painted Morgans that were fakes. And I agree she would look better as a Blonde.

Quote: I think she looks like Rue McClanahan. Search for painted SBAs. They are scary. So, OldSkool, you're essentially agreeing with the OP? . . . . oh wait, Blanche didn't charge . . . I actually think it's a lovely design, but it doesn't belong on a silver coin. Save the designs for non-numismatic coins.

I'm sceptical that they are real. Update us after you receive them and check them out.

These were packaged and sold by the US Commemorative Gallery ... and I have found links to 2 dealers that I have bought legitimate coins from offering the same coins ... but up to 50 bucks a shot. Twin Cities Gold and howardsdirect, both ebay sellers, and both who know coins well enough to spot the copies. These have been scanned through the last scan point that they'll encounter before arriving at my post office. I'll probably get them tomorrow, saturday. Everything this seller has came from the same outfit, basically a company that sells pocket change in slick display cases for 1000 times what its worth. You can buy a 1921 Morgan dollar from them now ... not colorized, for just 99 dollars. These companies skin ittle old ladies out of their social security checks. Keep ya posted. Oh ... I forgot to add .... the ones I saw at howardsdirect were definitely decals. The images were large enough that you could see the dot matrix. I am sure these aren't painted...but have stickers on them. I have a half a gallon of acetone on hand, so they won't last long. Chance

I think they are real. Makes sense that if they were choosing a stencil, 1921 would be the best choice. There were a LOT minted and a lot exist in high grades. I wouldn't use the price as any indicator of their authenticity. When bought originally, I'm sure someone paid MUCH more than they were worth. They just changed hands later for much less.

I got a surprise at the PO this morning. The painted ladies arrived. I knew it was possible, but didn't figure it was likely. The "decal" was a rub on. No paint involved. Anyway ... they're real, weighing 26.7 grams each. Here they are now, after their bath. Chance

They're not my nicest Morgans, but they're the nicest ones I ever paid 6.75 each for.

It looks like they did some sort of etching to make the decals stick better. Perhaps a few weeks in your pocket would fix that.

Just bad photography.... They're not worth enough to set up a fancy rig to photograph them. They're not etched at all.

Glad to hear that. The one on the left is pretty high grade. Just a touch of wear.
