Pictures 1 and 3 are already in PCGS MS65 FULL BAND Holders. Picture 4 is already in a PCGS MS66 FULL BAND Holder Picture 2 is a coin I just picked up.
Pictures of the whole coin do not matter.....ONLY concerned with the SPLIT between the CENTER band only.

Quote: For 1945-P, these are all well struck enough to carry at least a small premium for their respective grades, IMO. #3 should be sent in, it has a chance. Small premium? A Mint State FB '45-P is a two thousand dollar+ coin.

"A Mint State FB '45-P is a two thousand dollar+ coin." No...It is a PCGS price guide $12,000.00 coin (@MS65FB) -------------------------------------------------------- "Looks to me like all 4 have FB." "You have 4 very nice Dimes" Thank you for the opinion on dime #2,which is my coin. The other 3 are not my coins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The last paragraph (on this page) in David Lange's book on Mercury's.(scroll to bottom of page) http://blog.davidlawrence.com/index...h-5-grading/

Quote: #2,which is my coin i still dont get why we cant see the whole coin your pic of your alleged coin is too dark on the left side to make out if the band splits all the way across current view shows it does not just send it in and slab it but I have a feeling that even if a TPG stated it was not, you would insist it was so that being the case, just send it to all of them one at a time until, if ever, you get an FSB designation

Must admit you titling this thread "Can I get FB on any", and then later revealing that only one of the coins is even yours, is "bad form" IMO. Ask for help but "set up" the helpers with pics meant to show that "your coin" is as good as 3 others already having obtained a FB by a TPG. Strikes me as OFF and disengenuous, if not a bit low! I still say 1, as well as your 2, don't look FB.

I think the point was to make it a blind test, not to deceive.

I agree with Captain but I also am still wondering why we could not get pics of the coins. Pics are a basic fundamental to posting here if you want the respect and attention of the community. I see the pics of the 4 center band shots but not the whole coins showing me FSB TPG Slabs and his raw '45.

I dont have full pictures of all the coins. What difference does it make? Again....I dont care about the "Grade".The grade means nothing in reference to the center bands. If the obverse was chopped with a screwdriver...does that matter to the question of the center band...no it does not. The point of showing the 3 that are already FB is because 99% of 45P's all have flat bands, not very rounded. Sorry you feel it was sneaky, wasnt supposed to be. Just wanted to compare the line across the center bands.

Quote: The grade means nothing in reference to the center bands Actually, the FB designation, refers to not just the bands, but the detail on the entire coin

Not really... There are lots of FB designated dimes with poorly struck obverses or peripheries. Granted, having full bands means the coin is more likely to be well struck generally, but it's not always true. The only reason the whole coin comes into play for the designation is that TPGs sometimes grade certain dates on a curve.
