HK 411 Rarity 3...1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition State Fund Dollar for Oregon So-Called Dollar...1859 State Building.....I couldn't help myself. I just got it a bit ago and it's absolutely stunning. As big as a silver dollar and a real beauty....

@52Raymo: Of course! Now you need to find the two medals (bronze and silver) from 1961 that are part of the same US Mint series - the 1961 medals mark the termination of the Pony Express.

I just did a quick check and found both versions. The silver medal I was only able to find one and they wanted 150.00 bin...

The 1960 and 1961 Pony Express silver medals are 0.900 fine silver and weigh 19.7 grams. They each contain 0.57 troy ounces of silver.

Quote: Are doubled dies common? I'll assume you are referring to doubled dies on Oregon Trail Memorial half-dollars... Doubled- and tripled-die Oregons are known die varieties of the issue. While not incredibly common, they can be found. For example, StacksBowers has had about a dozen available in its auctions over the last year - If I recall correctly, its most recent auction had three listed.

It may not be a doubled die but there is some nice doubling on a Diamond Jubilee Pony Express medal. I can try to get some photos up. I bought it the other day because of the nice doubling/tripling - I usually stick to coins, but this was neat! Thanks for the response.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone know how many of Pony Express Diamond Jubilee medals were made in 10K gold?
