Bryan1315, it appears that you have the S/S version.

I like to see what "other than dealer types" are offering, and once you start into the "same as 5 pizzas" guy's listings ... there's page after page of them.

I'm looking for guys who don't "deal" in coins, so I can buy coins like this 20 cent piece for 60 dollars. You'll never buy this one for 60 dollars from "the pizza dude". I'm looking for deals.

This ... was a deal. No solder or anything. It is the RPM variety too.

So ... does the repunched mint mark add anything to the value ... or is it more a curiosity? Are there folks who collect these by variety?

A huge deal - congratulations! At least a $250 coin in my opinion.

It's probably worth about half that anyway. Numismedia has the 1875-S listed at 156.00 in VF-20. I think this one's VF-30ish.

Who knows? The way prices have fallen, by next year this time 60 bucks could be the going rate for this coin. That's the biggest reason for looking for smoking hot deals. I have "tempered" faith in any kind of return to "the good old days". I think that the economy we're in now ... is pretty much "it" unless it gets worse.

The S/S mintmark is fairly common, from what I have read, no additional Fair Market Value, although buyers may place additional value on it.

I would say at least VF-30, the strike on these "double dimes" is different than the rest of the Seated Series.

This one looks a whole heck of a lot better than the first image!

My Twenty Cent Piece has the S/S and a Rotated Reverse (cleaned) which I think adds to the "coolness" of it!

I just noticed something I've not seen before. Look at the pole her cap is hanging on. It's thicker above her hand, by a good bit, than below her hand.

I wonder if that's consistent with the RPM ... maybe a die chip?

Gonna go have another look at Bryan1315s coin now...

I did ... and that feature's there on his as well.

That's a pretty substantial rotation.

Looks like they all have the fat pole/skinny pole thing going on.

Usually on a VF-20, there is little to no sign of Liberty left on the shield. These coins are different in that Liberty was raised instead of inclused and so it wears quickly. I have seen XF coins with less Liberty showing.

It does look like prices have dropped on these a little since when I bought my XF40 for my 7070.

I made the grade assessment by using PCGS photograde online. In case anybody ever tries to find 20 cent pieces on that site ... they're listed under "quarters". Seems odd because every other denomination has a dedicated category. Half Cents aren't listed with large cents.

That's a great by for $60. I should be so lucky finding my 20 center for the 7070!

Completely agree with your approach to rolling the dice a little bit in finding a sleeper on ebay. Nice job.
