Thanks DrSandman2. In it's current condition (AG), any ideas on value?

Unless it is extremely rare, I wouldn't expect much of a premium over spot. Great find, though, and I hold on to my RPDs and double dies regardless of condition!

My fault, I suppose including the mint mark would've helped give a better value determination....this is a 1942 D. RedBook has it at $350 in EF 40, just trying to get a guess at value in AG condition.

Happens to be one on ebay that ends in 4 hours. Slabbed. This should give you an idea.

I'm in need of some education here on DDO / DDR quarters.
Where is the doubling on this particular one ?
I have rolls of quarters that look just like this.
Worn, flat and mushy wide devices. I've looked up a few
DDO quarters but they show some pretty evident doubling.
Thanks.

On this coin, I see what appears to be doubling on the serifs on the bottom of L and E in LIBERTY. Also, the B is doubled in the same direction, to the east. Also, I see a split in the tail of S in TRUST. All devices are very thick.

I would recommend signing up for a free account at Heritage's site (ha.com), and browsing their past coin sales. Their photos are very good and most coins are very high grade.

Hopefully others can give you tips regarding quarters... I'm usually looking at IHCs and wheats.

Absolutely a DDO. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is the giveaway. Not too much on "LIBERTY"

I know this is a DDO.
My question is how little confirmation seeing the coin from afar.
Is the width of the letters you indicate for you it is a DDO?
sorry for my bad english

It looks like a DDO to me based on the bottom of the L & E of LIBERTY. Here's a pic of my 1942 DDO.
