I picked up 6 ikes at a credit union the other day. Nothing noteworthy, I'm simply trying to accumulate enough to fill booklets for each of my 3 kids with AU-condition coins and wanted to keep this thread alive!

One of my coworkers brought in a 1972 AU Ike for me today, too. I gladly handed him US currency in exchange. :)

Happy Ike hunting all!

went to a bank I haven't been to in awhile to get a box of nickels. the teller asked if I was a collector. I said yes. s he said she had some silver dollars in back. she brought out 60 ikes so I took them all. haven't looked for anything yet.

I have asked a few times at my bank for Ike's and still no luck. I will never give up! All the tellers and vault manager know my name now so maybe if they get something interesting they will save it for me, who know..

We need the story or else it's like watching the final super bowl drive with no commentary or crowd cheering. Jk

That's awesome!! If it was me the person on other side would say $54 please.

Sorry for getting your hopes up! Not much of a story to go with them... they were part of an estate collection that I helped to appraise amd liquidate last year for a friend of my wife's family. I struck a deal to buy anything I wanted at the price the LCS was offering, so I got the Ikes at face, the '28-S at a little over melt, and the '21 was in lieu of cash payment for helping out.

Well, it is still a story. Not an action adventure, but the tale of an accountant maybe.
