Love the STEPS too! Believe this is the Type II (reverse of 1940). Anybody else know?

Yep, looks like a reverse of 40 to me.

Nice coin. Darn close to FS too. If you wanna share, how much was it?

Nice coin but those gouges on Tom's face would make getting MS65 problematic.

Reguardles of the "Zorro" slash, it's a beautiful coin. That's it, call it your "Zorro" nickel. It almost looks as if it was deliberate. I'd be proud to have it in my collection!

Great coin. Appears to be either from a bank wrapped roll or album toning. Nice pick up of a very tough date in top grades.

Awesome toning. I'm a sucker for toned coins also and may have jumped at that one!

That's a beautiful coin w/ great toning. Would you mind sharing how much you paid for? You may want to come back to the dealer (if you have his card) and get those early date Jefferson. Jefferson is kind of a neglected series.
I need to upgrade my 30s and 40s coins.
