The album was purchased used and suppose to be empty but this was in it. Should I start feeling guilty now or later on. If this were yours would you send it into PCGS so preserve and keep a good value on it?

Why put off feeling guilty til later, when you can do it now, and get it out of the way? This is the perfect way to find a Twenty Cent Piece, a denomination that was forgotten and unappreciated in its time.

I believe this was an ebay buy from a lot I bought with 2 7070's and 2 early comm. type books. Thank you all for your help with this. If I send it to PCGS any idea what the cost would be to have it graded and slabbed?

Wow that is an amazing find. I would personally have it graded, I prefer NGC but that is up to you. Glad to see you have white gloves on, lol.

Awesome find. There is ZERO guilt here. The seller had the responsibility of cleaning out the albums before he sold them. That coin is simply a bonus.
That baby would be on its way to ANACS right now. I would say VF 48/AU50. The Eagles breast looks to have just enough wear that it might go into the VF. Regardless, awesome coin dude!

a 20 cent 1875CC in VF is more like a $500 coin then $300. If authentic.

It looks authentic in the images. It also looks cleaned though and may not grade problem free. The details appear to be XF and it's probably worth $500 or so unless it grades problem free at a top TPG. That would push it close to $1,000. Pretty amazing someone left that in a supposedly empty album.

its always safe to say "if its authentic" the seller could have plugged the fake in there to give the buyer a nice prank you never know

Sorry I was out all day today so I didn't get to make any responses. I've read the forum and looked at a couple images on ebay and it looks like the mm is in the correct position. How many fellow collectors think this may be a fake? I really would hate to send in my first coin for grading to be told its "not authentic". Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

I don't see any red flags but it would be a good idea to send it in just to make sure. It looks like it might grade around a EF but I am not sure if it would slab as problem free. Great find!
