The error WAMs can only be found in 1998/1999/2000 for pennies.

This may be a dumb question but can anyone give me the "stats" for WAM's? How uncommon are they?

LKLive13, I don't know the answer but I can tell you that when you look at prices on ebay for various oddities, you can get a rough idea. Higher price usually means more rare. Also, the 1999 WAM is much rarer.

If you're on the east coast you have a much better chance of finding wammys than someone on the west coast. Like me. I come across very few Phillies.

According to the Red Book, there is also a 1996 WAM. How come nobody has mentioned this?

for people who look for WAMs...can you just tell that it is a WAM by looking at it without a magnifier or do you have to have one...i dont have one but I feel like my eye is pretty decent to spot them...i have not found any and maybe this is my problem...i would like to know what others come across as what works and doesn't

I use a magnifying glass, but once found a 1999 WAM without one. Kept it separate until I could check under a glass.
