There is a pretty decent premium over spot, so it's better to buy a 5oz bar if the silver is all you want. APMEX is sold out of these raw - they only have stabbed ones, and there aren't a lot of them there. I bought it mainly for the numismatic appeal of the design.

I hear ya...but I am thinking I can get one of these near spot down here a lot easier than a bar.

Great coin gothic!

I picked up the 1oz version yesterday, my first Libertad!

I really like the design of the coin from a numismatic sense.

@Namachieli - I'm also a fan of the proof version. I think it may be on my Christmas list to myself!

Yes, I too have fallen for the Mexican Libertad.
My first Libertad was a 2011 1/2oz proof, got it on ebay. And today, my 2013 5oz arrived and it is simply beautiful. Got it on ebay too, it was a Daily Deal recently and took advantage of the deal.

I like the fact the Mexican mint keeps their Libertad mintages low.

Nice coin. I think 5 oz coins are a very good size....not overly big and not so small that they don't even get much attention.

Harrison - I paid $169 with free shipping, plus I redeemed my $13 ebay Bucks certificate. So I actually paid $156 for the coin.
