For me it's the Washington quarter and Peace dollar. Both were the victim of crummy die preparation with the low reliefs. The Peace dollar could have been a beautiful coin if not for this.

Mine would have to be the barber design, just never appealed to me, I think it's bland overall

Dave700x, I'm new to all this, if it's not too much to ask, could you explain further for me how the dies were prepared poorly and how that affected the appearance of the coin.

For my Two Cents, I think that the 2 cent piece is poorly done. Not one bit of romance that I think most other of our coins have.

I find any coin with what I call the "chicken eagle" reverse unappealing. There are many of them....just hate the look of a skinny eagle.

My most hated design on any classic coin has got to be the Peace dollar. It is the ugliest coin in the whole Dansco type set album to me. I have no idea why anyone would draw liberty with her mouth open

I know this is sacrilege but I never really cared for the Morgan dollar design.
Akkk!! nah I understand everyone has a different opinion on what they think is appealing and what isn't. If we didn't everyone would be after the same woman and there would be allot of single ladies plotting against her

I think that the low relief Peace dollar would have to be my least favorite coin... the high relief is pretty nice....

I'm not much for the Peace dollar either. The crown she's wearing is ugly, and the model they used to depict Liberty is not that beautiful.

I agree. The reverse is great but the Obverse is poorly designed.

I'm actually really surprised at the number of folks who dislike the Peace dollar.
I think it's a very beautiful and underrated coin.

To each their own!

Ironically, those are my favorite (hence my username!)

My least favorite are barbers - I honestly did think it was a man on the coin when I first started collecting.

Interesting about the Peace dollar, and some not keen on it.
I prefer Morgans to Peaces.

The Type II SLQ reverse junked up the clean Type I reverse by adding stars below the eagle and larger lettering. Type II SLQ is the "pimp my ride" of classic coin reverses.

The Buffalo nickel Type II 1913 flat-plane reverse looks exactly like the cost-cutting measure that it was. The 2001 American Buffalo silver dollar and the Gold Buffalo coins use the Type I buffalo-on-mound reverse, enough said.

MS Barbers are sure neat to see nowadays, but back in 1892, imagine what people used to seeing Seated Liberty coins must have thought of the new Barber series.

Liberty's open mouth and spiky crown on the Peace dollar suggests a screaming banshee warrior ready to fight, cool in that context but an awkward thing to infer from a design ostensibly paying tribute to the end of World War I.
