Just because it isn't in a slab does not automatically mean it is fake. Now, this certainly looks to be fake. But not because of being out of a slab.

That is a bad fake.
Doesn't ebay have seller limits on new accounts?

True but on ebay its a big sign that its more likely it will be fake than not for high value coins anyway. Its 100 times easier to sell slabs on ebay for a $1000 plus dollar coin theres no reason not to spend 30 or 40 to get it slabbed.

Not in the US, yet anyway. Some countries do from what I've heard from other members

Actually when I opened my ebay account earlier this year they limited me to 100 items or $3,000 a month, whichever comes first.

Really, that must be fairly new. Did it happen to mention how many sales you needed for the limit to disappear?

Id heard from another member about a 500 dollar limit in I think it was Sweeden but hadnt heard of the US accounts having one

I sent the seller an email asking for pictures of the obverse and reverse sides, as well as more of a description of the coin.

Be interesting to see what they reply, if they reply at all that is.

@ basebal21 - Have to reach a certain feedback limit and $500 in sales. They locked my account when it came time to raise my selling limit and did like an audit askign what Isell and how Iget the stuff I sell and how much, I pretty much just made up stuff because I don't want them knowing all of that.

Tom thanks for the info. Very interesting for sure. I would have made stuff up too. Some of that really isn't their business and no one is going to say "I rob houses and sell what I get on your site"

Exactly, I'm sure some people come up with some good things to tell them when they ask.

Why is anyone wasting their precious time on this thread, including my response? Don't we have better things to spend our time on?

The auction is gone now. It would have been nice to have seen a picture of it though.
