Yeah, half ounce of gold certainly makes more sense, thanks.

Akane17, People think what there selling is gold and want high ebay trends. I would only imagine Canadian would be a tough sell in America. Its a tough sell here in canada. I sell for spot plus shipping any less its not worth it for me, and even then its a hassel buyer complain, a lost parcel could ruin any potential profit. My smelter pays 98% with any amount over $500fv. I like you buy only when its available well under spot, but then again I have no issues taking them to my guy and having them smelted down. There is some risk as I dont get $500fv everyday and markets go up and down. But at the end of the day id rather get my 98% then bring in a smaller amount for 80% of spot.

Quote: You yourself won't spend over 2xface under spot, but have yours listed at almost 4xface over spot. If you're not willing to spend over spot, why would others? First of all I have posted that I would sell for 22xface shipped not 24...spot being 20.5. The other $7 that they would spend is for shipping which I just added into the price rather than having to work out shipping costs aside. Second I have also posted in the advertising CCF auction section that I have more up for sale and was ACCEPTING OFFERS on everything! Which meant nothing was in stone and that I'm very reasonable to a reasonable offer. Third, just because I hold out and am extremely patient to find a deal at 2xface under spot doesn't mean others are and that they are willing to pay spot or more. I am fully aware the knowledge that is on this forum, and obviously don't look to sell here at a highly inflated rate. Please do not insult my integrity.

So why dont you just sell at spot plus shipping might get more interest that way... But remember canadian and american spot vary about 70cents

because no guess work for the buying party. The price they see is their total investment...no math no surprises. I base my spot values by http://www.currencydebasement.com

I'd suggest kitco as a means to judge spot. Let me tell you if I was paying in CDN and was quoted in american spot I would feel a bit ripped off.

REALLY? Because our dollar is worth more now? I bought all my stuff when CAD was worth less than USD but US index. IF our dollar was worth exact same there would be no difference. So me selling using the USD index payment in CAD is the only way for me to stay true. I do not want to have to convert USD into CAD either.

Our dollar is worth more, so our spot is different. Many canadians buy in USD spot and well if any dealer in Canada asks that I laugh and walk away. Then again customer knowledge goes along way. If the USD is doing better I pay in USD. Keeps prices down
But as of 10:10pm Tonight there is a nice little gap in prices
GOLD USD 1743.70 GOLD CDN 1709.56
SILVER USD 33.22 SILVER CDN 32.59

$0.037 is a big deal for people like me. I usually buy 100$ FV at a time so $37 is a nice little savings.

I don't buy that much at a time and also don't sell that much at a time. Agreed...makes a big difference when buying a good handful of silver...I don't deny that, but this all came up because of my roll of dimes I'm selling, which I'm saying is really nothing to fret about. That's all.

I don't really bother with 80% silver, and I'm Canadian. Just find it exponentially harder to move than 90% or better. Personally, my soft spot is for sterling, I find it a nice compromise between the lower purity stuff and the .999 stuff. Most of the time I can get it at spot, none of the premiums that are usually attached to .999. There's a surprising amount of .925 floating around, a lot of pre 1920 junk condition British coinage, and a lot of .925 hidden in plain sight in medals, medallions, etc...

I don't mind buying if I can get it for spot or a smidge under, but $$$ are tight right now, so my buying is on hold for anything short of a spectacular deal.
