What should I call the second note? Is there a name or just near solid radar?

Hi AaronG,if your going to put them on ebay just describe them as RADAR notes with good numbers, buyers of these types of notes know what they are looking for so simple is best IMO.

If the ink transfer error/smudge ? note is the 244442 RADAR then it's probably worth a lot more than the other note & of course you should emphasize both the error & radar.

I will describe the first one as a radar, but the 2nd one actually isn't a radar note is it?

What a shame about that mark on the first note . I think the correct term for the second note is a bookend. I may be wrong but if I were you I would search using the CCF bar and see what you can learn.

repeater? 37-00-37?
nice I've been checking all my notes lately, and not even close yet to a seller or keeper, and you get 2 in one hit.

I was thinking it could be a repeater, just 2 digits instead of 3. First 2 I've ever gotten and I've been looking for around 3-4 months

I just did a quick search for bookend and your note seems to be one.

The first radar is probably worth hanging on to for collector interest but the "Market" for these things is extremely weak,so you might get a couple of dollars over face value if you are lucky. Considering their scarcity it is hard to understand. The second note is a "nothing" note, and no matter how you play with the numbers is not worth hanging on to.
Just my opinion of course

Over the past week I have liquidated most of the 'interesting serials' including, radars, near solids, repeaters etc which I have either found or only paid a slught premium over face for. I've given them to a friend for face value but I'm sure he will enjoy them now. I had my fun with them, even though they were worth little to no premium I had fun hunting them down, holding onto them and now passing them onto someone else. Moral is keep whatever you want. Both of your notes arent worth much of a premium if at all yet if you can afford $20 each then why not hold onto them and enjoy them for a little while.

I love collecting banknotes. Signature types, first and last prefixes, solid numbers, low and high numbers.
But radar numbers do nothing for me. They seem too contrived.
