the session starts at 1PM EST, so it's 7PM Central european time (CET).
I thought the auction would be streamed live online, or am I completely wrong?

Ah. I had misinterpreted your time expression, and thought you were referring to the evening session. I honestly do not know if it's being streamed; you might want to throw your consignment advisor an email.

epikur ... please allow me to clarify the Heritage Auction methods for selling your coin ... Your lovely coin is listed as Lot #4663 in the January FUN auction ... and as you noted above it is shown on page 261 of the Heritage printed catalog for Session 3. Heritage will hold 9 auctions at the FUN show ... each listed in the catalog as a 'session' ... the initial 6 sessions are open to internet (advance) bidding as well as live floor aution bidding. All internet bidding closes at 10pm EST (USA) the night before the floor session ... the leading internet bid is offered as the opening bid at the live floor auction the next day ... in this case Orlando Florida. Your 1916-D dime is lot #6 in the floor auction portion of Session #3 ... proceeded in the auction catalog by 5 other 1916-D ... 4 of which are in 'details' holders except the single PCGS VF35/CAC coin. Here is how it will go ... internet bids will be accepted until 10pm (EST, USA) on Wednesday January 9th. Whatever that high bid will be the opening bid at the 'live' session starting at 1pm Thursday 1/10 (EST, USA) the next day. Heritage typically auctions 6 to 10 coins per minute during their live floor auctions ... so your final price will be known by 1:02pm (EST, USA). You can participate if you wish by signing in for " Heritage Live" ... that will require a registration and credit card. Trust that many of us are following this lovely coin ... and wishing for you the best price possible. Hoping my comments above offer some level of support for you to understand the mechanics of the upcoming auction. Best, David

Even though your coin is listed as "scratches", I think it looks very nice. I would pick that one over the the other coin.
Just out of curiosity, what does the "CAC" sticker represent on the other coin?
Thanks.

hmm...I was getting my hope up a little too high.
No bidders at all during the auction, so it sold for $3750

If you didn't get any bids, how did it sell for $3750? Just curious on how that works.
Thanks.

3750 still calculates a good profit!

true...I mean, I am pleased with the whole sale process, and the profit will make me able to look at some coins I really want. But on the other hand, the bidding process is what's get the adrenaline pumping, and wouldn't mind to see a bid or five...

At the live bidding, was the next bid supposed to be $4,000 or did they try lowering it after there were no more bids?
Nice profit though!

A bidder has one opportunity per lot to bid half the normal increase. So someone could bid $3875 if they wanted to. Those half-increase bids are up the the bidder, not the auctioneer
