dfg04, I suggest you buy a box of nickels from your local bank branch and you'll be amazed at just how many of those holes you can fill, including those San Frans. :) I probably filled 90% of my album from just a couple boxes. And now the law of diminishing returns sets in.... bleah...

Yeah, it's $125 per box but remember you return most of it. Also a simple way to save. Withdraw from your checking and deposit into savings. It's also fun and a great way to multitask while watching Monday Night Football.

That's how I've filled almost all but 21 of the holes in my folders.

And like I said, I'm working on a circulated album (best condition I can find in circ) and a BU/Proof album. Honestly...the UNC album is more satisfying in the long run. :)

i havent worried about condition, if I do find one that is a little better, I will replace it in the album. but I'm broke til next tuesday because I was getting key dates for my wheats and that put me at 90 dollars. I'm close to completing the lincoln cents. Ill have to go down and create my savings alongside my checking, I've been meaning to do that.lol

Sorry, $100/box for nickels. :)

I usually buy a box of nickels and a box of cents at the same time, which is $125 together.

If you start doing this regularly, you'll find it's just easier to get a box from time to time. :)

Yep, get a box. You have a good chance of also finding Buffalos and proofs as well.

I usually buy rolls. Do you have to order the boxes or will most banks have them on hand?

Yeah, do you have to come back another time after they specifically make an order for you? And can you do that for NIFC, like half dollars?

Nice finds. Good luck with finding more. And getting them by the roll, is the quickest and easiest to fill holes in your set.

Bank branches generally have them on hand. You just have to be prepared for the occasional brand spankin' new box of shiny fresh-from-the mint rolls. In that case you dump them right away and get another box.

I deal with several banks and one wanted to charge me $105 or a $5 service charge. I said no thanks. They gave me that box with no charge after I complained that $100 nickels and $100 bill are equivalent. At least I got the box without a fee. I will be using other banks in the future.
