Would anyone have the time and the willingness to come up with a more reasonable asking price? I agree - not much quality to be had here. Way overpriced. I recently bought an 1837 Half Dime in XF, no stars, and have an 1837 Dime in XF, no stars, on layaway. There is not a spot for them in this album, yet is a real variety. Sorry, but I think that the 7070 is overrated as an album.

I think it would be easy to put together this album if you are willing to put coins in any condition in it like it looks like they did here. The challenge is finding the coins in the condition that you want them to be in. Some of the coins are very easy to find in lower grades but almost impossible to find is AU or above grades

I do think the price is on the high side, not sure how much, with out looking up each coin. Gut feeling a couple thousand high .. based on greysheet bid price. Quote: Sorry, but I think that the 7070 is overrated as an album. Just curious .. what type set album do you think would be rated higher?

Way too much I think and you could get off to a good start on the Dansco 7070 at a local coin show and pick up some nice pieces

GR58, I actually have no preference for an album. My project to build a modest type set of Seated Liberty coins will be housed in 2X2s. I find them raw from a trusted dealer. The four Barber Series and housed in Dansco, except for six dimes in plastic. Nickels and dimes are both complete and grade AT LEAST fine or above. Everyone should make his or her own decision as to how to house coins. I am happy with mine.

I myself prefer 2x2's over albums but it is my choice and I like them that way. I see many people go to my local coin store and bring their albums with them and look through bins to fill in the holes they have, which is great too. I find I'm a little all over the place when it comes to coins, I have a hard time sticking to just one kind.

Nothing wrong with putting together a type set in 2X2's I understand having better flexibility.
When you posted a negative comment about Dansco 7070 albums. And then posted no reason. I was not sure if you knew of a better album, or just wanting to post a jab at the ones that do like the album.
IMO even the collectors that like the album, believe that there could be a better selection of coins. Most hope that the next version to be released will be better than the current one.
With the Dansco 7070 being the most popular album, I would think it is because it is the best we have to choose from.

The 7070 is lacking in the modern era, but at this point I actually dont think well be seeing a new 7070. Its been what seems like years if not actual years since the new version was supposed to be developed. Unless they know something we dont and are waiting for a new series from the mint to start I think the owner has basically just checked out on running the company and will just stick with what they have.

i agree with the couple thousand to high. I have one minus the two Seated dollars. this one has a few nicer ones then mine but for the most part mine is a lot nicer and I value it around $2250 I do not think two slick Seated dollars are worth 3 grand. and by "mine" I really mean my girlfriends since I parted and sold mine

I think he is about $3000 overpriced. I saw a completed set in slightly lower conditions than he has go for just under $1700. I think his conditions could add an extra grand on the set I saw but no the $4000 extra he asking. That set is worth about $3k I think.
My main goal has always been to complete the set and it could very well be completed in similar conditions as his but I would then enjoy the hunt in upgrading the set. I am currently at 48 of the 76 holes completed.

I would jump on that, but there is no Gold Page.
