as a newbie, would it be to much to ask to get a photo of the WAM next to a NAM(normal AM - it felt right at the time)? As an avid hunter, I would love to see a comparison!!

Jefffelman, my camera doesn't take good closeups. Compare the AM between a pre 1993 cent and one after 1992. You should see the difference.

Congratulations! VERY hard to find these; I go through at least $50 a week in cents and I haven't found one for a few years. Looks to be in pretty nice condition, too.

Thanks for the replies. You can't see it in the pics but there are small black specks all over the coin. Also a flat spot on the bottom of the steps and a couple small nicks here and there along with a fingerprint on the obverse. Probably come back as ungradable because of all that. However, there is very little wear overall on the coin. Probably worth in the neighborhood of $25 or so even with all it's imperfections.

Ah, you lucky dog! I've only found one in about 5 years of searching. Yours looks slightly better than mine. This is a rare bird indeed. Congrats.

Chuckster, good to hear from you. When you told me about your 2nd one, I didn't understand how difficult they were to find. Doubt i'll be lucky enough to find 2 more for the tie but who knows. Thanks again for the replies.

If I find another in better shape, I may send it out for slabbing. I wouldn't clean it.
