I'd probably try to get less than $60, but he may be stuck in the mud at that price...
Good luck!

Considering those in the plastic baggies may have marks on them, I'd forget this. All in all, less than $1/coin is a decent price pending if all are OK.

I like buying coins like this at face value.
But if you really wanted them I would offer $40 to $45

I'm with Carl, A buck a piece is a good price for proofs.
$75 is a fair price but the guy will probably take $70.

Yeah, I offered 50 and he wanted 65. I'm hesitant to go any higher.

Let me clarify one point.
It's only a good deal if it's something you want.
I don't believe in buying something just because the price is right.
I should have said "a buck a piece is a good price for proof coins if your looking for THOSE proof coins"

I agree with upstate, it's only a good deal if you want or need the coins. The circulated coins are only worth face and are uninteresting and common. $50 was a more than a generous offer on your part. I probably would have offered him $40 or less. Since he is used to receiving ebay prices he probably won't be considering any lesser price, so if he doesn't want to come down and you really don't need the coins it could be well to walk away from the deal.

There is nothing in the offering that would be of interest to me and I like Ikes and Sac dollars.

Might be worth checking the 2 1981 Lincoln proofs.

Yeah I would be buying it to fill the holes in my proof albums. Anything extra I would have put up in the BST section. It's a bummer he didnt take 50 but not a heart breaker.

I would try your local dealer for proof sets from the 70's + 80's. Those years of proof sets are generally cheap and it is a lot less hassle than dealing with some of the people on craigslist.

Course too, if the OP meets the seller, he can always walk away from the deal. Just saying.
