I'm just curious here--but how would a hammer-struck coin have a raised border perfectly centered around the edges on both sides?

I guess there is a possibility that the coin is a fake. But IMO it looks genuine, with a very good strike.

Is it silver plated It vaguely look as if we can see an underlying metal near the edge. Could just be the pics (or me )...

You could take a pic of the edge ?

I noticed that too, I thought it was just the picture. A picture of the edge would tell for sure.

From what I see of the edge, and the dark line running through the middle, my bet is on a cast copy.

That certainly looks like a casting seam. I concur with a cast copy.

I also see a casting line, I agree it's a reproduction. Too bad if it was real it would have been a nice coin.

Well, thanks for clearing out that mini 8 years old mystery.
It would be awesome if the coin would be actually real!
but its also cool!
1 last question:
How can I found out the age of the coin?
(It may still may be done somewhere in the 20th century or am I overacting?)

Unless there are other examples that have been reported as being done by a certain forger there really isn't any way to pin down the exact date. It's most likely that it's a recent casting made in the last few years.
