I agree $60 is too high for a common MS-63 Walker. I haven't checked lately but I expect you could find one at a show for more like $40 or even a bit less. The "slab premium" is a cost borne by the seller when they submitted it for grading. They probably hoped for something better than 63 but that doesn't mean you should pay for their optimism!

I say get it! The coin has booming luster and isn't that expensive. Its your money but if you can win it for 50-65 that would be nice

Alright well I made my max bid 52 at the moment and ill just watch it. More than likely ill let this one go if it gets over 52, just because I have been buying a lot of coins lately. Also because the holidays are coming up, and its my turn to give more rather than just receive. Any who, I appreciate all the wonderful responses! You guys are always great and I love all the different opinions. Helps make my decision easier.
SDcoinguy, I love this coin as well. The luster isn't as bright, but it would still be a good edition to my 7070. Question is, can you send me pictures of the coin cracked out of the slab. I want to see how it looks close up without a slab on it.
Thanks everyone!

It is Sunday night - a good time to NOT fall in love with a coin on ebay!

definitely agree, I made my bid on it and I'm not going to move it. If I win it for 52.00 I'm content, if I lose it, I'm content. God has been good to me either way.

SD since its graded by ICG, its more than likely a much lower grade coin. Until I can get some good pictures, I couldn't even take a guess at it. ICG is known for over grading coins all the time.

Quote: ICG is known for over grading coins all the time. In my experience ICG has the biggest "problem" with assigning top grades like 69 and 70 on modern coins. They seem too easily impressed at the high end on these. For older coins like Walkers I expect they would be pretty fair. Back when PCGS accepted ICG coins for crossover grading I had positive results for a number of classic coins in grades ranging from VF-35 to MS-64. I think there are a lot of solidly-graded coins like this floating around in ICG plastic.

I agree about looking for a MS64 slabbed for a similar price. Dont get me wrong that looks like a good strike and as long as the price stays low its a good value, but $55+ is too much for a MS63 in such a common walker date imo.

I like buying classics in ICG holders. Some people only like PCGS and NGC and avoid all other holders. But I find ICG accurate graders and I will take the lower price, I crack the coins out anyway.
