Boy I am going to have to start buying my foreign coins from Toast! I tend to purchased foreign coins that everyone in the world also wants and none of them fall under CHEAP! Now, we can buy circulated junk by the pound but that is what you are getting.....someone else's junk. I buy uncirculated or proof coins (modern) and preferably low mintage or limited issues. And of course there is the pursuit of world classics and many of them are a kick in the old wallet in VG? Toast have you look at a Krause Catalog lately when it comes to the old classics or new silvers? Guess we may have different tastes as I must hope and pray foreign collectors will help me out before the coins make it to a U.S. or North American dealer! They, for the most part, double in cost by the time they reach this side of the big pond!

I was gonna say, foreign coins are cheap?

Try Anglo-Saxon coins or English hammered gold coins... if that's cheap I need a new job!

What gives me the feeling that a 1930 Australian Penny isn't cheap ..? or is it a 1931. My memory is going south with the ducks.

Richard,
If you are inviting use to the darkside, you need a maniacal laugh to go with your pitch

Yes, I collect junk cheap coins. Someone has too. LOL
I try and get "one coin" from as many different countries as possible.
Then I move on to getting a collection of different types and denominations from each country.
Finally I start filling in the different years for those countries.
One look at Krause, and you can see that I could go broke quick. So, on a limited budget, I collect junk coins. I like the variety and designs and enjoy having an example of the coin even if it is holed.
I also collect Australian Proof and Uncirculated coins, which are expensive. So the rest of the world is at junk prices/quality.

Toast I wasn't making fun of your collecting habits! I have no problems with the one coin from every country collection as I kind of have that going myself. Also doing a 2002 World collection for my littel boy so I know what it is like to seek out those cheapies for a change. Lot of history and culture for a little of nothing. But, I do lean to the expensive side of world coins and just wanted to point out it is not hard to reach the limit of the old wallet very quickly and I have found there is much more available at very fair prices if you have connections around the world! It sure does help!

Well Toast, you just have to wait untill I pas the 50 Posts, then I can send you my world coins list, I guess you can find "a few" coins that you don't have there, I have a little bit of doubles left over here.
